Challenge: build a commission model

50%
VLOOKUPMAXXLOOKUPINDEX

Commission is a tiered rate on sales, with a floor: nobody is paid less than 50 whatever they sold. That means two steps, find the rate, then apply it with a minimum.

Both steps have a trap. The rate comes from a banded table, so the lookup needs approximate matching and the table has to be locked before the formula is filled. The floor can be an IF or a MAX; either is fine, and MAX is shorter.

In C2, find each rep's rate from the band table in F2:G5. In D2, work out the commission. Fill both down to row 5.

The grid for this exercise is part of the paid half.
