What this is
ExcelForAll is a set of 84 Excel exercises that run in a spreadsheet in your browser, with written teaching around them. Using it means agreeing to what is on this page. It is written to be read rather than to be impressive, and if any of it is unclear, that is worth telling us about.
The service is provided by ExcelForAll. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Microsoft. Excel is Microsoft’s trademark and is used here to say what the course is about.
Free and paid
19 exercises need no account and no payment. 46 of the 84 are free once you have an account. The rest need a plan. Every written guide and every teaching page on the site is free to everybody, and always will be.
Which exercises sit behind which tier can change as the course grows. What will not happen is an exercise that is free today being moved behind a plan you have already paid for.
Your account
One account is for one person. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
You can delete your account whenever you like, and doing so deletes your progress with it. We can close an account that is being used to attack the service or to redistribute the paid material, and if we ever do that to a paying account we will refund the unused part.
Paying, renewing, cancelling
Payment is handled by Polar, who take the money and issue the receipt. The plans are:
| Plan | Price | What happens next |
|---|---|---|
| Annual | $59.99a year | Renews once a year. Cancel before it does and you are not charged again. |
| Lifetime | $199once | Pay once. Includes everything added later. |
| Monthly | $19.99a month | Cancel whenever you like. |
A subscription renews on its own until you cancel it. Cancelling stops the next charge and leaves your access running to the end of the period you have already paid for; it does not cut you off that afternoon. Lifetime means exactly that: one payment, no renewal, access for as long as the site exists.
Prices can change. A change never applies to a subscription already running without telling you before the renewal that would charge it, and it never applies to a lifetime purchase at all.
Refunds
If you are in the EU or the UK you have a statutory right to cancel a purchase within 14 days. Because the course is digital and available immediately, starting a paid exercise counts as asking for it to be delivered straight away, and that is the point at which the automatic right falls away. Nothing on this page takes away a right you have by law.
Beyond that: if the course is not what you expected, say so and you will be refunded. There is no form, no window beyond the reasonable, and no requirement to justify yourself. It is a course about spreadsheets, and arguing with somebody who did not get on with it is not worth either side’s afternoon.
Refunds go back the way the payment came, through Polar.
What the certificate is worth
Finishing all 84 exercises earns a certificate with a link anybody can open to check it. It records practice completed on this site. That is all it claims and all it is.
It is not an accredited qualification, it does not come from Microsoft, and it is not a Microsoft Office Specialist certification. If you need one of those, this is not it. Putting it on a CV as what it is, practice completed, is entirely reasonable; describing it as anything more is not.
What you may and may not do with it
The exercises, the written teaching, the spreadsheet engine and the answer checking are original work and belong to us. You may use all of it to learn, including at work and including to do your job better. You may quote from it with attribution.
You may not republish the paid exercises, sell them, or use them to run a competing course. Teaching from it in a classroom is fine; selling somebody else access to it is not.
Anything you type into the grid is yours. We do not claim it, and drafts never leave your browser in the first place.
What is not promised
This is a practice grid, not Excel. It implements a large part of how Excel behaves and deliberately not all of it, and the differences are written down on the functions page rather than glossed over.
The site is offered as it is. It will sometimes be down for maintenance and may occasionally be down when it should not be. No promise is made that finishing the course will get you a job, pass an employer’s test, or make you good at Excel: those depend on you and on things neither of us controls.
Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud, because that cannot be limited. Beyond that, what you can claim is capped at what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes and endings
These terms can change. The date at the top says when they last did, and a change that actually affects you is announced rather than slipped in. Carrying on using the site after a change means accepting it; if you would rather not, delete your account and ask for a refund of anything unused.
If the site is ever shut down, lifetime customers will be given notice and a refund proportionate to how long it ran. A lifetime plan sold weeks before closing would be a sharp practice, and promising not to do it is cheap and worth saying.
These terms are read under the law of the country the service is operated from.
